Garden Place apartment was originally part of a duplex house built in the South Park neighborhood of Dayton in 1895. One of the duplexes floor plan is basically the same as when it was built while the other was turned into two one bedroom apartments. We renovated the apartments in 2018 and opened them up for short term rental the same year. When we renovated the apartments we really tried to keep as many of the original details to the apartment that were there in 1895. The prize feature of Garden Place is the fireplace in what was originally the parlor of the house, that is now the bedroom. The beautiful green glass tile and carvings are absolutely amazing. The huge pocket doors that separate the bedroom from the Living Room are still beautiful with their dents & dings. The handles have beautiful floral and scroll details. We were also able to keep the doors from 1895 with their pretty floral door knobs. All of the beautiful old touches are one of the things that really makes Garden Place special and we hope our guests enjoy seeing them during their stay.
