A visit to Carillon Brewing Co. provides a window into Dayton Hospitality 1850's style. Both the atmosphere of the restaurant and the authentically prepared food & drinks represent that time period. The restaurant has its own entrance and is connected to Carillon Historical Park. The Carillon Brewing Co. menu offers a taste of the fare enjoyed by English, German & Irish settlers of the area. One of my favorite meals is the Schnitzel (a breaded pork tenderloin) and German Potato Salad. The most unique part of this restaurant experience is that they are the only production brewery located in a museum. It's fascinating watching the process of the brewery from your table as you eat your dinner. Beer lovers can enjoy a flight of 4 different historical beers for $7 and see what it's like to drink some of the areas popular beers from the 1800's. I'm not a beer drinker myself so, I really enjoy their house brewed ginger ale and cream soda. If you're looking for a fun twist to your dining experience and love history & Dayton, this is a must visit!
